Mozambique

The country of Mozambique has a population of 24,096,669 people. According to Mormon Newsroom, 6,029 of those people are members of the LDS church – 0.03%! The country has one mission (Mozambique Maputo) and 21 branches – no wards. It also has two family history centers.  The nearest temple is in Johannesburg, South Africa, which is about 6 hours away from Maputo (driving).

Mozambique was originally settled by Portugal, which is why the official language is Portuguese.

Animals native to Mozambique include lions, elephants, crocodiles, hyenas, jackals, hippos, giraffes, zebras,  and black rhinos. There are many types of poisonous snakes and tarantulas.
